The Wild
a celebration of flora and fauna
This collection highlights the beauty I find in living things. Flowers, leaves on trees. Creatures of water, earth, and air.
There is magic all around us, if we only take the time to look.

The Palouse
Harvest season turns these fertile rolling hills into an agricultural ocean, its standing waves of grain stretch to the horizon. For 50 years, I've worked with nature on this collaborative art: the morning sun paints the land in ochre, purple, and gold; and I etch the patterns and boundaries into the land with my combine.

Eye to Eye with a Tropicbird
We spy each other: one bound to earth, the other a master of the air. He hovers in front of me as I stand on the edge of this high cliff. I’m transfixed under his gaze. He’s curious, it seems, as he appraises me. But is there pity, too? Does he sympathize with my futile dreams of flight?

A Poppy's Perspective
What must this lone flower think of its view? Does it drink in the glory of silver sea and sky? Is there joy in the moment, radiating its golden light today, knowing it will be gone tomorrow?
